Spring-Summer 2000

AS A  DESIGNER WHOSE ROOTS ARE SO FIRMLY ENTRENCHED IN THE SOUL STIRRING AND SPIRITUAL LAND THAT IS INDIA, MY ATTEMPT HAS ALWAYS BEEN T0 CREATE A SYNTHESIS OF TRADITIONAL INDIAN STYLING AND WESTERN SENSIBILITIES.

THE RESULT ARE CLOTHES THAT I  WOULD TERM AS 'NEW AGE FASHION FOR THE WORLD' - NO BOUNDARIES, NO RESTRICTIONS AND THE FEELING OF ADORNED COMFORT ABOVE ALL ELSE.

I CALL THIS EXPRESSION 'SYNTHESIS': THE MELTING TOGETHER OF SHAPE, FORM, PATTERN AND DETAIL, THAT ULTIMATELY FORM A WHOLE.

THIS COLLECTION CONSISTS 0F 'SECOND SKINS'  IN SIMPLE SHAPES USING FINE, LIGHTWEIGHT LAYERING.

HARMONIOUS TONES OF TAUPE, AQUA AND CLAY CREATE THE DESIRED COOLING EFFECT,  WHILE A REVIVAL OF AN ANCIENT HAND ART RESURRECTS ITSELF BY WAY OF EMBELLISHMENT.
